Singapore Study Tour

Bello blog! It's been 3 months I'm away from blogging and I'm back now! Time flies! Uh-oh..

I find blogging nowadays are quite time consuming, and I got no mood and extra time for blogging but still not until that "wasting time" stage because blogging is quite important for us to reminisce our memories..

So, my blog today is about my Study Tour to Singapore in May 14th-21st 2014.

Whoa, it's been a really unforgettable, awesome, fantastic, memorable tour. Despite being the youngest, uhm, I'm the only foundation student and all of them were degree students, yeah seniors, but I gained lots of knowledge, become friends with them and I was really enjoyed myself most of the time during the tour.

So there're around 30 person in this tour included 4 UTAR staffs. And guess what, only 6 of them were boys and majority were girls.

How should I began my story? I guess I must jot down each and every moments and happenings out here, so that I can regain my memories perhaps 10 years later or I mean, in the future. Uhm, I guess this would be a freaking long blog post. Uh-oh..

Before the tour, there was a briefing held and I've already get to meet a new friend, Joanne. She can consider as my first friend in this tour.

13/5
I came back to Kampar to stay one night because our gathering on the next day is really early. I couldn't sleep the whole night. I was so looking forward to this tour, one of the reasons, it's my first time going to overseas without my family and friends. And not to forget, I was looking forward to meet new friends. Time pass really slow that night because I can't wait until 2am!

Day 1 (14/5)
Clarice & Andrew
KLIA 2 !
Finally it's around 2am. I went for a bath, got myself prepared and ta-da! It's 4am. A staff came to pick me up to school. I was getting excited until I can always smile suddenly. Reached school and got to know a friend, Mary. I wasn't that close with her at first. So the staffs and us were waiting for the UTAR bus to pick us to KLIA 2. Oh yeah! KLIA 2! I've been waiting for so long to pay a visit to the new airport! I'm so happy that our flight has changed from LCCT. So the bus came and picked us until the guard house and Westlake to pick up more students. Some went to KLIA and Singapore on their own. Our journey to KLIA took us around 3 hours. Our flight was at 11.30am but we purposely reach there earlier to visit the airport. At the airport, another two new friends, Clarice and Andrew came to talk to me. And we chit chatted, walked around KLIA and had our breakfast at McD together. And then we met up with Joanne and I introduced her to them.

The flight to Singapore took us an hour++. I sat with Andrew in the plane. We've finally reached our destination at around 1pm and then we gathered at Changi Airport while waiting for the other students to arrive.

"Welcome to Singapore!" I greeted to myself. I got the same feeling like I reached Korea last time. That feeling was like, I couldn't believe I wasn't in Malaysia anymore! I mean, I'm at oversea. Hahaha. And somehow I couldn't believe with my eyes. In the beginning 4 of us are sort of like in one gang but I guess it just lasted for around 2 days of the tour. We was on our way to National University of Singapore. Yes! NUS! Asia's top university if I'm not mistaken. Omg! I'm going to live at there for 8 days. I got so excited and urghhh really excited. It took another an hour to reach NUS. Yup, first day is always a travelling-on-the-road day, like really wasting time sometimes. We were given a bus card, like every time we go onto a town bus, we just need to swap the card to pay the bus fare. High class!

The first place we went when we arrived NUS was having our lunch at one of the cafeterias in University Town. Yup, there's a really unique little town inside the university! Wow! How I hope UTAR have one.

The prices of foods are more or less around the prices in Malaysia. Still affordable but don't convert the currency! Yeah, not just in NUS, even in Singapore, eating, products, facilities and entertainment are having the more or less same price as Malaysia but really, don't convert the currency back. I only got to figure out this after a few days living in Singapore. Oh my...

There's a rock climbing thingy inside NUS. Aihhhh seems so special right. After lunch, we gathered at a dining area beside a lobby of our hostel. Lobby! Dinning area! Yes, inside the hostel itself! Ground floor. Got lif! Whoa. I feel like the whole hostel is like a hotel! A briefing was held, basically was about our room registration. The persons in charge gave each of us our room card and wifi password. All were attached in an envelope and there's NUS logo and, it was seems like so professional! Students live at separate floors and I was happy that I get to stay with Joanne on the same floor. The 11th floor. My room was at the corner one so it's more windy and of course, can enjoy the scenery better.

After unpacked our stuffs, its already around 7pm and it was free time for us. Some students went to eat dinner themselves, included Clarice and Andrew, but majority of us plus UTAR staffs followed Prof. Teo, our professor whom in charge of our tour for 8 days, for dinner. He bought us to a Malay shop, and it's actually like, Singaporean Malay food.

Guess how much was this? It's just around SGD6-7! So affordable because it's really get yourself full and look at the ingredients! So worth it. After the dinner, we walked back to NUS and meanwhile, we enjoyed the night scenery around.

Here are some NUS scenery that I've taken in Day 1.
